The Seaford 9/11 Memorial Committee mourns the loss of Carla Powell. She and her husband Bill were named Honorary Patriots in 2013. Carla continued to support the Seaford 9/11 Memorial Committee after her husband’s passing. Visitation was held at Schmitt’s Funeral Home on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A religious service was held on Thursday evening (8:30 PM) at Schmitt’s Funeral Home followed by a Friday morning service at 10 AM. Internment was at Grace Church Cemetery on Merrick Road, Massapequa. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carla Jean’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
